Rhys-Tom

Welsh YRDA Supported Racing Driver

Rhys-Tom

Rhys-Tom Mesach Williams is a rare Welsh racing driver which has been racing go karts since he was 11 years old.

Rhys-Tom has had great success in his karting years since the start as he has achieved several race wins, heat wins and podiums in the classes he has competed in - Minimax and Junior Rotax.

He has competed in championships such as the NKC and the Llandow Kart Club Championship.
In these championships, he has achieved success including becoming the Welsh Champion at Llandow, winning the desired 'CC Plate' in Junior Rotax.

Rhys-Tom is supported by Arden’s YRDA (Young Racing Drivers Academy), which he has been a part of since July 2020, as he develops his skills towards a career in motorsport and stepping up the ladder of competition, into single-seaters and beyond.

He has shown strong early potential, by proving himself to be on the pace of the current Arden Motorsport British Formula 4 Racing Drivers, despite much less experience in testing single-seater machinery.

"My goal -  I would give everything and anything to become a Formula One Racing Driver one day."

Jamie Horner - YRDA

“Rhys-Tom is an outstanding young racing driver with the talent, dedication, focus and mindset to succeed at the highest level of motorsport. Another Welsh flyer called Williams is set to make his mark.”

My Ambition

Rhys-Tom has been obsessed with racing since a young age and always loved the sense of speed.

The time he realised that he wanted to race in Formula One was when he first saw an F1 race on the TV.

His dream of being a Formula 1 Racing Driver became even more clear to him when he had the chance to see the F1 car’s in the flesh, as well as the opportunity to meet current British Formula One driver Lando Norris.

During Rhys-Tom’s racing career he experienced a huge leap in his on-track performances over his short racing career.
When he first started in 2016 and all the way till 2019, he was mainly involved in the midfield battles all throughout his maiden seasons of racing.
Fast forward one season after the 2019 season, this dramatically changed whilst Rhys-Tom changed his attitude and mindset towards racing coming in to the 2020 karting season, giving himself a big step and elevate himself up the grid.

The last season has seen Rhys-Tom develop strongly in karting, which has been seen to earn him several race wins and podiums over the course of the year - which alongside his YRDA education, will see him become an even more potent force as he takes the steps up the motorsport ladder to further his racing career.

"I would like to prove that I am more than capable of becoming a Formula One Driver in the future, as I plan to advance my junior career by leaping into championships such as the FIA British Formula 4 Championship in 2023."
